Urawa Red Diamonds have secured their place in the AFC Champions League final after defeating Al Hilal 2-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals.
The match was played at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and saw both teams battle it out for the right to face off against each other in the final.
In the first leg, Urawa took the lead through a goal from Tatsuya Hattori in the 45th minute. However, Al Hilal fought back in the second half with two goals from Ali Mabrouk and Yousef Al-Harbi to level the tie at 1-1.
In the return leg, Urawa once again took the lead through a goal from Yuki Sugimoto in the 68th minute. However, Al Hilal fought back again as they scored twice in the last five minutes to take the game into extra time.
In extra time, Urawa were able to hold on and secure a 2-1 win, securing their spot in the final.
The victory is a huge achievement for Urawa, who had been knocked out of the competition earlier this season by Al Hilal in the round of 16.
With the win, Urawa will now face off against the winners of the other semi-final between Al Jazira and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in the final.
This is a historic moment for Urawa, who have never won the AFC Champions League before and this victory will be a huge boost to their confidence heading into the final.
